Every week or so, I choose an rpg rom out of our database, and tell you guys all about it! This weeks choice is Final Fantasy 3 for the NES. Final Fantasy 3 (NES): Definately not to be confused with ff3 for the snes. This game is a totally different identity... sometimes I refer to it as the 'losl' final fantasy... namely because it appears as though it will never be released in english. The version of it on this site, is an english translation. All the text is good... it's a very nice addition to your rare rom collection. Now let's talk graphics and such: Face it, you can't get graphics any better on the NES... this thing must have completely pushed the NES to it's limit. Though the graphics are complete and utter shit by today's standards... They're really good for the NES... *BUUUUZZZZAAAAAPPPP!!!!!* errr... I mean sounds...: Well... 8 bit sound can get somewhat annoying after a while... and I won't lie to you, the music is shit... But hey, it's nintendo... why not give it a shot... that's the whole point of playing these games right? Gameplay: This game has a side view battle system, not at all unlike final fantasy I... the real difference here being the fact that if you kill the enemy you were attacking, your characters will attack another one... instead of attacking nothing... Also, the battle has been graphically improved since FF1... And then there's the best part... There's a change class system in this crazy nintendo game. That's right, the same system used in FFT and FF5 has been used here... this game is the roots of all of them =) Very great game... go on over to the nes section and download it right now :) |
