ey folks! If you're reading this now, I guess that means that the first RPG Pick was a slight success =)

This week's pick will include pictures... and it is:

Phantasy Star 3! for the Genesis/Mega Drive
<img src=http://manaconquest.blade2k.com/ramzaspick/PS3-1.jpg>title screen</img>

this game is the third in the phantasy star series, and deserves big credit for many ground breaking things it had in it. One of which was the fact that this game takes place over the course of three generations, each with their own problems, and each generation after ward is affected by what you did in the generation(s) before it.

<b>Storyline</b>:
Well... the storyline isn't exactly up to par with other games of it's time. Basically, some kind of evil is taking over the world... and you are inadvertantly pulled into the battle... due to your lineage...

You were supposed to marry a girl who washed up on shore a few years ago... but as you can see from the next screenshot, that didn't exactly happen...

<b>Sound</b>:
well, with all phantasy star games, the music and sound is great! Infact, my sound card isn't even good enough to emulate the game's sound the way it was meant to be.

<b>Gameplay</b>:
This game's battle system is somewhat unique... and very hard to get the hang of... It's simple enough to attack the enemy in one push of the button, but let's say you want to use a specific skill... that's where the auto battle thing that used in this battle system is flawed. The game is very difficult, and somewhat frustrating... you have to wander all around the world trying to figure out where to go, and when you finally get there, you're left wandering around the world again to go where you have to go next...

The real customization is when you get to choose who to marry at the end of each generation. This affects the outcome of the next geberation, but also affects the characters you will encounter, the name and abilities of your character, and the difficulty of the enemies. It's a great game. I suggest to all of you reading this to give it a shot. You won't regret it :)
