Punk O Rama 9

Epitaph
2004

Hmm, alright well I couldn't think of anything else better to review so I decided to just review the new Punk O Rama CD. Now just to tell you if you're interested...I have all Punk O Rama CDs except for 1 2 and 3. But compared to 4,5,6,7 and 8. I think this is probably the 2nd or third worst Punk O Rama CD out of all the ones I have. But that doesn't mean it's crap.

Or does it?

Eh...anyway.

Well the cover is traditional Metro Sea style, but I think they should have used different colours for the cover. But I do think the general design of the CD looks pretty nice.

On to the actual CD. as usual pretty cheap as it's 24 songs and a DVD of videos as well. However even though there are 24 songs, Epitaph have decided to expand their horizons to things past just the punk genre in this compilation, they've expanded from just plain old punk as from past issues of the compilation to things ranging from hardcore to emo to screamo and to...wait for it...rap. But it isn't that unexpected if you have been paying attention to the Epitaph line up recently.

But if you think about it is seems a bit strange to have rap on a punk compilation, so maybe they should change the name to something else or start putting more punk on the CD. But thankfully the rap songs on the CD, namely Error, Eyedea and Abilities and Atmosphere aren't that bad.

But still the CD still manages to impress, occasionally, with some brilliant songs from Hot Water Music, Necromantix, 1208, Motion City Soundtrack and as per usual Bad Religion. But although there are some nice songs on the CD the average song on this CD is pretty mediocre and fades in comparison to other volumes of the Punk O Rama compilation series, so Overall this CD isn't fantastic but it still does have some songs that make me want to play this CD a few more times

and just for the sake of it...this is a picture of the Punk O Rama poster I took a photo of under a bridge near where I live

That being said and done....here comes the song list:

1. Bad Religion - Social Suicide
