» reviews![]() Final Fantasy: Legend of the Ultima Weapon Developed By: Ace_StrifeReview By: RPGVirtuoso Written on: Sunday, August, 14th, 2005 at 10:12:41 pm Rating: 58% Site: here System: RPG Maker 2003 Download: here Gameplay 4/10 This game doesn't deliver much in the gameplay section. It's another RM2k3 game with random encounters and walking through from one dungeon to another. Even while skipping battles like I usually do, the bosses are very easy. There are no minigames or sidequests that I know of. Graphics 7/10 This game has custom RTP-style graphics, and custom RTP-style battle characters, but it still comes short in just about any other area. The maps are very empty and incorrectly made and there are problems with walkable tiles. (Refer to the screenshot near the beginning where I am standing in the sky) Sounds and Tunes 7/10 A mixture of Final Fantasy, Tales of Destiny/Phantasia, and there is one Phantasy Star Online song. I suppose this area is fair. There are songs in the game I have not heard before, and I am surprised the sound track isn't 100% FF7 given who the author is. :P Story 6/10 The story is not as cliche'd as one would expect, but the way the story is introduced can put someone to sleep. I found myself tuning out so much, I wouldn't be able to explain anything about the story even if you asked me. Features 5/10 Nothing special. Custom items, custom skills, Nn minigames, occasional dungeon "puzzles"... Calculation ((4+7+7+6+5)x 2 = 58) Overall rating: 58 - Eh. There is nothing eye popping about this game. Perhaps when the Materia System comes out, it will go up in the features section. Screenshots write a review
