Remember Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest? If you don\'t, it was a game that Squaresoft (Now Square Enix) made that they really didn\'t try their hardest with. It was still a pretty fun game, but Squaresoft could of made it better if they wanted to put all their effort into this.

REDDAP\'s Ninja Watutu kind of reminds me of that. REDDAP has clearly stated that this is a side project made just for fun, and to me that\'s perfectly fine. It\'s still a pretty fun game if you\'re in the right mood, but it\'s not the next A Blured Line or anything.

Graphics: 4/10

All RTP and default animations. I don\'t have anything against the RTP, but here the usage isn\'t exactly great. Of course, sometimes this adds to the humor of the game, but many of the maps could use more details. There are graphics from a certain OTHER game used at one point, but it\'s nothing that changes the score.

Sound: 6/10

Once again, with a single exception in this demo, all RTP. I\'m not too fond of RTP music, but some of it is used pretty well here. For example, the battle theme is the far-east tune, but the tempo is changed so it makes a great battle theme for a game about a ninja (NOTE: He got the idea for the battle theme from someone else... GUESS WHO!?). Also, there are some good uses of sound effects here in some scenes, and sometimes... interesting... use of sound effects as well (You\'ll know what I\'m talking about when you get there).

Plot: 7/10

Watutu is a ninja who is on a quest to become the GREATEST NINJA IN THE WORLD! That\'s pretty much the whole plot line, really. If you couldn\'t tell, this is a humor game, so your enjoyment of the plot really depends on the type of humor you like. The entire plot is told in a goof-ball style, so anyone who doesn\'t like stupid, stupid humor probably won\'t like this game. Personally, I thought the jokes here were pretty funny, and the running gags in this game are pretty entertaining as well. Expect guest stars like the famous soldier Alex also. Overall, if you don\'t like stupid humor than subtract two points from my score.

Gameplay: 7/10

This is pretty much a standard RPG, so this game is best played depending on your mood. No CBS, no CMS, no ABS, and no SUCSSAGOASTWMTGR (Super Uber Custom Systems Such As Going Online And Stuff That Would Make This Game Rule... I just made that acronym up off the top of my head, pay no attention to it). Ninja Watutu isn\'t about blowing your mind with amazing coding; it\'s about being an entertaining game for people who are pretty bored. The battles in this game, although somewhat frequent, don\'t take too long (Although they seem to take long in the begining), and the dungeons don\'t require too much brain power. One thing that kind of bothered me about this game is the inability to run. Due to the way the battle system is set up, you can only run when you get the first move, which doesn\'t happen very often. This can be fixed very easily, but near the begining there were a few moments where I wanted to run from battles, only to find out I can\'t. Also, the world map was a little too open for me. It made looking for places a little hard, and it didn\'t help that there were random battles along the way. Still, this game entertained me, but I\'m sure that people who come into this with very high standards probably won\'t enjoy this. Even if you\'re curious, the game is still worth a download since it\'s so small.

NOTE: I found it kind of funny that you could skip right over the last battle in this demo. This is probably a glitch, so I\'m just bringing that out in the open.

Uniquity: 6/10

I believe the jokes in this game are unique (as in not ripped from The Simpsons or anything) so points can go here. However, humor games aren\'t really rare in the RPG Making world, and RTP graphics don\'t make this game stand out either. A mixed bag, I guess.

4+6+7+7+6*2= 60/100

Even though the overall isn\'t the greatest, I still recomend Ninja Watutu for anyone that\'s bored, curious, or just wants something to play. It\'s a pretty fun game, and it\'s actually kind of nice to see a game that isn\'t meant to be some end-all RPG or anything. However, if you hate RTP graphics and/or have high standards then you might want to play something else.
