![]() Morpheus' Review From Hell: Fable Developed By: Microsoft, Lionhead, Big Blue BoxReview By: Morpheus Written on: Wednesday, November, 03rd, 2004 at 01:24:17 am Rating: 85% Site: here System: X-Box Hey, I know what you're thinking, "DUDE, Morpheus is reviewing an X-Box game!" No, my views on the X-Box haven't changed, it is still the system of the devil and I still loath Bill Gates. However, this little ditty of a game is fun as hell. The story starts with you as a little boy, whether you like it or not. You are in your happy little village which is "untouched by the sword" as the narrator puts it. Your father wakes you from daydreaming just so you can go get your sister a birthday present because today is her birthday you forgot, what kinda brother are you anyway? So you run around the little town to do good or bad deeds to collect cash for your sister's birthday present. Once you get it and give it to your sister, you're village suddenly becomes a whole lot less "untouched by the sword." Bandits attack looking for you evidently. They kill your father and capture your mother and sister. You hide and stay safe until you are saved by Maze. Maze is the leader of the hero's guild and he thinks you've got the gonads to be a hero. So from then on you train to be a hero, your destiny from there is up to you. The controls are pretty easy, but at times it gets confusing in the heat of battle. Some buttons are dual purpose so it does get in the way once in a while. The graphics are pretty good, nothing brand spanking new though as far as the x-box is concerned. The music is original but nothing amazring, its all steriotypical fairytale music. Now for the rant section. There is practically no customization. You're a boy, whether you like it or not. Your hair color is decided by your alignment with good or evil, your eye and skin color is the same. Your physique is determined by character strength. Tattoos and hair style can be customized though, but it costs money. Honestly i cant see this game as being much more than eye-candy, kinda like halo 2, nothing brand new, just remade and somewhat prettier with a flaw here or there. Your average x-box cronie wont recognize the flaws at all, and think it's the best game ever. Honestly, real gamers should wait for the price to drop a bit and buy it used, it's nothing special. If you want some fun involving fable though, go here. Cute little fable game Screenshots write a review
