![]() Final Fantasy : Time and Again Developed By: AzraelReview By: Ramza Written on: Monday, August, 09th, 2004 at 08:40:17 pm Rating: 62% Site: here System: RPG Maker 2003 Download: here Gameplay: 7/10 The default rm2k3 battle system had a lot of tweaks done to it. There was a jump command for dragoons, (even enemy dragoons) a steal command for the theif guy, and a whole bunch of magic and stuff. There were no glitches or bugs that I found either. However, the battles were somewhat unbalanced. I always found that one of the characters always did 1-4 damage when she attacked, especially towards the end of the game. Missing was a big problem during the game as well. And although the enemies weren't too hard, it was somewhat annoying to have the encounter rate as high as it was. Graphics: 8/10 Pretty much all of the chipsets and monsters were ripped from FF4. But that's to be expected from an FF4 fangame. Many of the "original" facesets were just slight edits from other more common sets. Same goes for characters. The battle charactersets could also use a bit more animation and work... and I think some of the weapon animations were a bit off (chain whip for example). However, there was only two things that I noticed were RTP, and they were facesets of some people at the very beginning of the game. Maps were put together pretty much just like a lot of them were in FF4, with a lot of those hidden passages ways you used to see a lot of in the arlier FF games. The anime-ish pictures of the people was a nice touch, and adds a nice coolness factor to the game :) Sound: 8/10 There are two different version to download, as I noticed in the forum earlier. I had downloaded the mega huge (106mb) version, so I was treated to a lot of mp3 music. I'm not so sure about which version is here, so you might have some midis in yours. Heh, anyway, the music was great, although none of it was completely original. It was all (slight) remixes on traditional FF4 songs, or other random musics from other final fantasies. The sound effects were also mostly taken from other FF games, but a few of them were in fact default rtp. Story: 5/10 I can't say the story was bad, but I can't really say it was all that good either. asically, it's a bit of a side story that takes place at the same time as FF4... err from what I can tell anyway. Although the brand new aspects of the storyline do explain a few things that were left behind from ff4, the rest of it is pretty much just events that happened in FF4. Character developement is great though =D Uniquity: 3/10 It's a fangame. There are some tweaks to the battle system, and such, but other than that, there isn't really much else to put here. Conclusion: Download this. It's a nice game, I had fun playing it. It took 4 hours for me to finish the demo, so it's a good length as well. The graphics are FF4-ish, and so is the music and sound. As well as the storyline. Do you like FF4? If you like it, play this... if you like it a mega super awesome amount, leave it alone, cuz you'll probably be kinda angry at the creators. Also, the little character profiles thing that it has is a nice touch :) 7 + 8 + 8 + 5 + 3 = 31/50 = 62% Screenshots write a review
