 Losing Streak Developed By: Less Than JakeReview By: Tumble_Weed Written on: Monday, August, 09th, 2004 at 05:16:00 pm Rating: 80% Site: here System: CD Alright I know what you're probably thinking right now as you look at the calendar...Yes it is Thursday...and no im not completely mad...I’m probably about 97% mad....but besides that....the CD reviews are back...w00tage! I was going to review one of those NoFX CD's that are shoved in my CD rack...well they're not shoved, they're placed gently there.... But that’s beside the point. Much like these first two paragraphs... So anyway I was down at the shops after school and i thought i might pop down to the music section of Borders Bookshop...and I’ve been possibly considering buying this CD for a while now. I had just got $50 recently and thought...'may as well use it' (although the CD only costed $23). I listened to parts of the CD in Borders (yes they have head things there where you can scan the CD and listen to it.... someone had set the thing to German though, so half the fun was listening to some scary German man saying "Press skip track to hear the next song or scan another CD" Usually i wouldn't review a CD i got the same day as i bought it, but this is a really good ska CD.... Definitely the best ska CD I have, next to my other Less Than Jake CD-Anthem, but don't worry, I’ve managed to listen to this CD three times already. I know it's not that much when you think that i've listened to Pump Up The Valuum about 200 times. But well it's enough times. Apparently this is Less Than Jake's 13th release I can only assume that's the reason for the title. they have made 5 7"s, one 10", three 12"s and 4CDs according to the inner flap of the booklet. Also with nice cover art of "lucky objects", and which features a freakay looking green alien guy who has clovers, dice, Ace-of-spades cards, and an 8-ball while he's holding a horseshoe.... Anyway the CD is really good, and usually very fast paced punk-ska. Out of the 16 tracks I reckon these are some of the best: *Just Like Frank *Johnny Quest Thinks We're Sellouts (apparently a remake of their own song...i have heard the other version of this before and I reckon their old version was better, there is also another re-recording of a song on this CD-Jen Doesn’t Like Me Anymore) *How's My Driving Doug Hastings? Purchasing this CD has made me come to the realization that these guys have some scary obsession with putting people’s names and proper nouns into the titles of their songs.... Even their name has a name. Anyway Full track listing is: Automatic Happyman 9th At Pine Sugar In Your Gas Tank Shindo 107 Johnny Quest Thinks We're Sellouts Krazy Glue Never Going Back To New Jersey How's My Driving Doug Hastings? Just Like Frank Ask The Magic 8 Ball Dopeman Jen Doesn't like Me Anymore Rock-N-Roll Pizzeria Lockdown Hooraj! now that that's out of the way, time for the.... Conclusion...well alright I have to admit it is sort of hard to make conclusions about an album I haven't listened to all that much, but so far what I think is it's a really good CD, it Ska, and it's fast paced, and I don't think there is one bad song on this CD.
