![]() Endless Thread Developed By: ZackReview By: GameMaster Written on: Thursday, June, 10th, 2004 at 03:30:44 pm Rating: 80% Site: here System: RPG Maker 2003 Download: here Gameplay 6/10 Standard RM2K3 battle system used in this game, and unfortunatly the games battles I felt where not calculated very well. Almost every battle (especially later in the game) resulted in a level of at least one character. Speaking of characters... there are 9 playable characters in the game! Plus, 2 that leave the party later and a secret character! All the bosses tended to be difficult, and bosses where everywhere, but it kept you on your toes. Bonus points for the length! It was at least 6-8 hours long! The major downfall in this area was that there were NO real minigames. Zip, nada, zilch... Not to big of a deal you say? Well, there was also only ONE sidequest (from what I noticed). Another horrid downfall is the fact that the game pretty much pulls you along in a straight path. You have 1 choice in the game that comes far later in the game... Don't get me wrong though, it was still pretty fun! Graphics 6/10 There are some big problems with graphic use here, I didn't feel he used the chipsets very well, and graphic placement was a huge problem. Transition schemes sometimes didn't work well and even didn't make sense part of the time (go downward to another map... appear on the left sid of the screen?) But then, he used 3D graphics throughout the whole game! Yes, 3D!!! He even had some cool 3D movies! Major bonus points here! Sound 10/10 One of the best parts! This game had some of the best music selection ever! The music fit great with the mood, it all worked! Extreme variety, it was pulled from all around! The sounds weren't too bad either, pretty well placed, and sounded acurate. Story 9/10 An incredible story! It was almost like a movie! Tons of dialog, the main part of the game was the story... It started out as you, Alex, just got Rpg Maker 200!!! So you go home to play it, and you log onto the rpg2knet forums... and SLURP! You're sucked in! Apparently, it's being hacked, and you join up with Ultrant and OrDieTrying to stop the hackers! Weird names you say? Well, this game is actually an rpg2knet community game, the whole game contains tons of names from the rpg2knet forums! Unfortunatly, there was little to none character development, and you really didn't feel a connection to them at all. Do you like LOTR? Well, he did stick in a lot of sceens from that movie to his game! In another aspect, I could see some Starwars resemblence, and a few things from other game and movies like Lunar 2. Unquitity 8/10 Well, community games that are finished are rare to see, so that makes this game pretty rare. This game has to be one of the only ones with 3D graphics in it too! Not to mention I haven't even seen a storyline even near this one... But... he did pull out a lot of little sceens from movies and such. Conclusion I would suggest you guys play this game! Hopefully, you can gather up enough time over the summer to play it all! Ultrant did a wonderful job on this game, and he put a lot of work into it, and it does show! 6 + 6 + 10 + 9 + 8 = 39/50 = 78% = 8/10 Screenshots write a review
