![]() Abstract Paroxysm Developed By: DarkCronoReview By: Ramza Written on: Thursday, March, 25th, 2004 at 07:58:34 pm Rating: 80% Site: here System: RPG Maker 2000 Download: here Gameplay 9/10 If it wasn't for using the default battle system, and a few places where the dialogue goes off the textbox, this would be a perferct mark. There's a "shoot down the bad guys" minigame type thing, wicked cutscenes and all around awesome use of rm2k. The game was kind of short however... Graphics 9/10 Not entirely custom, I noticed a few things in there from FF6. Everything matched, and was used wonderfully. The screen tones were perfect, and pictures and panoramas were used to make the areas as realistic as possible. Sound 9/10 Once again, a near perfect mark! There were a mix of musics from everywhere, I assume a few of the tracks were sustom as well. The music fit perfectly with the tone too. The sound effects were spectacular, but I found them a little quite. Little more customized music, and you'll get perfect next time :) Story 7/10 Two countries have been at war for a long time, you play as either of two brothers, who are (ironically enough) on either side of the war. Lot's of cursing, and such. And the game is near perfect in this respect in everyway. My only problem with it is that the storyline is a bit cliche, though at the same time, nearly completely original... I didn't like how the entire history of the world was revealed to the player when he loads the game... Unquitity 6/10 Totally original feel and design. By far it's one of the best rm2k games I've ever played! The music wasn't dull or overused, the graphics and pictures were fresh and cool looking, and fit well with the chipsets chosen. Although the default battle and menu were used, the battle had a bit of a side view twist. It was a nice game indeed. Conclusion Conclusion I love this game guys! This is how a futuristic rm2k game should be! I totally recommend that you download it! It'll blow you away! 9 + 9 + 9 + 7 + 6 = 40/50 = 80/100 = 8/10 Screenshots write a review
