![]() The Eternal Blaze Developed By: dragonblazeReview By: Dream[MoRpHeUs] Written on: Friday, February, 20th, 2004 at 04:31:44 am Rating: 40% Site: here System: RPG Maker 2003 Download: here Gameplay 2/5 This game was...interesting. It lacked any mini-games and had one of those lovely kind of fighting systems that allow you to just sit there and press the spacebar as much as you want until the battle ends. It did have an interesting little ally ability that lets you ally with some monsters and then they give you things. It had a few bugs in one part where you use an onion looking thing to control armies, but it warned you of that and provided a way around it so it compensates. Graphics 1/5 All the charsets I saw were RTP or downloaded from somewhere, not really original, one of the characters actually had the faceset of a chao from sonic adventure. The facesets were all in different styles and most likely all downloaded, losl even recognized one from some Final Fantasy VII for the N64. The redeeming aspect was the original chipsets. They did, however, seem very ho-hum and common. The battle graphics were... for lack of a better word... interesting. Many were obviously downloaded because they all had different styles. Sound 4/5 The sounds were all nice, but seemed normal. It did manage to match the mood and it didn't get annoying over long periods of time. The battle music annoyed me a bit when it got really quiet at the end. I wouldn't have noticed it except it was too short for the long battles towards the end. Story 3/5 The storyline was a lot like others, with a few spins. A kid gets woken up by his mother to go hear a story from the village elder. He goes there to hear the story and it just happens to be about his fate. The plot is pretty much the main part of this game, and it develops well enough to be entertaining. Unquitity 1/5 Everything seemed to be downloaded, though the music was nice enough, it sounded pretty common. It seemed like someone took a final fantasy game and put different characters and storyline to it. Conclusion It was pretty fun, though it loses a few off record points for it's lack of spell-checkage. It needed to get some uniquity to it, it had a few bugs in the battles, but if you fixed those and a few other things, it would make a good game 2+1+4+3+1 = 11/25 = 44% Screenshots write a review
