![]() The Jewel of Courage Developed By: ZellReview By: Ramza Written on: Wednesday, February, 04th, 2004 at 08:31:33 pm Rating: 50% Site: here System: RPG Maker 2003 Download: here Gameplay 4/10 Used the default rm2k3 battle. There was a choice type thing when you hit the cancel button. The battles weren't difficult, but they took a good long while to beat. I find the same effect could have been used with 20 hp instead of 200. Common slimes took multiple hits to defeat. The game was probably not more than 10 minutes long. Graphics 6/10 RTP heroes, faces, and walking graphics. There were custom battle sprites, weapons, and monsters though. The chipsets seemed familiar, but the weren't rtp. Pretty average here... Sound 7/10 There weren't any rtp musical tracks. The sound effects were all rtp. Some music was chosen well, from FF8 and such. Most of the music fit well, but with such a small game, it's hard not to have the music not fit. Story 3/10 There doesn't seem to be a lot of dialogue in this game. It starts off with a crystal, and then cuts into the sewers where two random people happen to be. A third person joins your party for a really unknown reason, as you journey to the Academy. There isn't a lot of back story, and the game is too short to figure out exactly what is going on. Unquitity 4/10 Well, the music is far from unique, but it isn't really common either. The storyline can hardly be considered unique, as it isn't really long enough to find out. From what I can tell, this game is destined to be an average one at best. But since it is an rm2k3 game, I will give away a few points here, for just being an rm2k3 game. Conclusion At first, I downloaded it and there were a ton of missing files, this was because of the rtp he used. To correct this, he included all of the sound files in the game. This made the file size a lot bigger than it needs to be. The gam is average in pretty much every way, and I believe it's relative mark will reflect that. 4 + 6 + 7 + 3 + 4 = 24/50 49% 5/10 Screenshots write a review
