Before I continue, I just want to say that I'm a big fan or Ramza's previous work.

Gameplay:
Very smooth and sleek. The battle system, as well as the enemy encounters by way of proximity was a very nice touch. The opening sequence is a little long, and the sense of over-explanation continues throughout the demo. There are also one too many "mushy" statements between Eidan and Hannah, it seems they can't be apart for more than a few minutes without telling each other how they mean to each other. There are a few bugs yet to work out, but as it's a demo I didn't dock any points for that.
7/10

Graphics:
The opening flashback has text that is extremely hard to read due to the fact that the text window is transparent and the background is lava. Other than that the graphics are superb The battle animations and sprites are fantastic. As well as the character sprites used. They're all well edited to the point that it's hard to recognize them. Town layouts are, in general, well done and it's not too hard to figure out where you are, or need to be going.
9/10

Sound:
The music is well chosen, and well placed. The sound effects, for the most part, are well done as well. The random forest guards shouting "HEY YOU!" is a little hokey, as it sounds muffled, but the rest of the sound, especially those chosen for the battle skills, were excellent.
9/10

Story:
Luckily, as someone who played Mana Conquest, I can tell you that you do not need to do so to enjoy Vengeance. Other than the opening sequence, the rest of the game rarely mentions anything even related to the original game. The story doesn't progress too far, as it feels that the demo was meant to introduce a lot in a short period of time, but what there is has certainly got my attention.
8/10

Unquitity:
At first it seems a bit mundane. Boy prince doesn't want to be king and longs to run off with the woman he loves, who others would deem unworthy of his affections. Blah blah blah, but as you dive into the game a little deeper it is unique in it's own way. The uniqueness really lies in both the customization of each character, to the point of battle sprites, face graphics, and miniaturized versions for the world map. The other thing that struck me, was the addition of a second faction during the raid. Many games have an evil army that you have to rally the rest of the world to defeat, but the twist of having two, plus the fact that those two armies are currently fighting against each other, adds a very unique element to the game even in its early stages.
10/10

Conclusion:
It's a pretty good teaser. The only thing I can say it lacked was tempo. The opening was very slow moving, and the rest of the game felt like it stopped and started. But even with that, this was a great demo. Ramza always produces good games, and I have no reason to think this one will be any different.
