![]() Hitman: Contracts Developed By: EidosReview By: Agent_47 Written on: Saturday, February, 25th, 2006 at 05:36:15 am Rating: 74% Site: here System: Playstation 2, Xbox, PC Download: here Yes, it was only a matter of time before I reviewed a game starring my namesake. Graphics 7/10 The graphics really don’t seem like that much of an improvement from the last Hitman game, sure they have been updated a little, but they could be much better. However, the environments are top notch and do make up a little for the graphical letdown. The game uses rag doll physics, which as always provides some pretty cool animations, when characters are killed they fall to the ground in a crumpled heap, and when you knock them unconscious, they can be dragged in a very life like manner. Sound 8/10 The music is heavy on the bass and percussion, very much like the original Hitman. It blends seamlessly with the game’s setting, much as the composer, Jesper Kyd, did with Freedom Fighters several years ago. However, it is annoying that characters constantly repeat their lines when they panick. Story 7/10 You’re Agent_47, and you’re relieving old jobs. It’s a rarely seen motif, which in my opinion, is enjoyable. However, I would have enjoyed more new missions. The majority of the jobs in the game are ones from previous Hitman titles. This is probably the biggest letdown of the game, and really puts it a level below the other games in the Hitman series. Gameplay 7/10 It’s a fairly simple interface, which gets the job done, but I would like it to have more depth. Also, in some areas, the A.I is either too hard or a pushover. I did find the tactical map very useful. However, when you are trying to use stealth, it can become tricky if you don’t fully grasp the concept, and Eidos could have made a better tutorial for this. Replayability 8/10 There are multiple ways to make a hit, and some are much more challenging than others. The goal is to only waste the target without being seen. This will earn you the “Silent Assassin” rating, which also unlocks a special weapon. However, the special weapons aren’t really needed to complete the missions, and just are a milestone of your skill in the game. Screenshots write a review
