![]() Wild Arms 2: 2nd Ignition Developed By: Sony Computer Entertainment of AmericaReview By: xtremedrummerguy Written on: Wednesday, December, 28th, 2005 at 06:51:39 pm Rating: 90% Site: here System: Playstation Download: here WILD ARMS 2 : 2ND IGNITION AN OLD SCHOOL RPG with a lot of gameplay and a whole bunch of options. It\'s definitely one of the classics, even though it was made in 2000 or so. Not a lot of gossip about this game, it\'s kind of old-fashioned and elementary compared to a lot of other games made at the same time, but great game. STORY / PLOT 7 / 10 Great storyline, but confusing if you don\'t pay attention. Characters will come out of nowhere and stuff like that. Especially near the end, the plot goes haywire, and gets a bit chaotic. GAMEPLAY / REPLAYABILITY 10 / 10 Absolutely loved this game. A lot of secret weapons, techs and moves. There\'s Tools system which I thought was ingenious. Each character has up to three unique tools which they earn through the game. Unique in that it has it\'s own graphics and usage, so you need to switch out constantly. Also, there\'s no confusion about which characters you want to use, because the game specifies what character you need for that particular part. There\'s so many secret bosses, it\'s not even funny. Did I mention each enemy gives you a monster card? You can collect all of them. Oh, and a search system where you have to find towns with a radar and secret items pop out of the ground. Amazing stuff. VISUALS 8 / 10 The spriting on this is a problem, because, that\'s what it is, spriting. Don\'t get me wrong, I love sprites, but on a 3D RPG, it looks kinda funky. Somehow, this game managed to pull it off, and they pulled it off well. The characters seems to mesh into the background, which is beautifully textured. The battles ... well, the characters are a bit choppy (Final Fantasy VII-ish), but that\'s about it. SOUND / MUSIC 9 / 10 Probably one of the best parts of the game. A booming bass in most of the songs with the obligatory western whistling takes you back into the frontier. Not all that great, but it\'s not annoying, which is definitely a plus. CONTROLS 10 / 10 It\'s almost as if they knew the way my hand-eye coordination worked. Of course there are some parts of the game where, you wish it was a full 3D movement, but the 8 directional movement actually works to your advantage. Puzzles and trip locks match in with the directions so you\'re not sliding everywhere. The run system is a bit slow, but it\'s so awesome! You hold down a button and the character crouches to get ready, and sprints it\'s butt off. The Tools systematically enhances the controls with a wide variety of available mechanics. Needless to say, it\'s all in here. OVERALL 10 / 10 Not at all a bad game. A conception from SCEA, this game has all the basic mechanics of a true classic RPG and more. Don\'t forget to try this game out. AVERAGE :: 7 + 10 + 8 + 9 + 10 + 10 = 54 / 6 = 9 9 / 10 ::xtremedrummerguy@hotmail.com:: Screenshots write a review
