What Happened?

edited by Ramza again:
Take a look here if you care about my project at all.

For an unknown reason, when I visited www.rmwiki.org this afternoon I found it redirecting to a site run by Andiaz (a well known face in the RM community I believe).

I immediately went to the c-panel to do some damage repair but found that the rmwiki folder was empty (save two files which, apparently, can not be deleted). I've managed to redirect the rmwiki.org domain to the root directory of our host, with the scant resources I have at my command there's not much better I can do.

Other than that all I can really say at the moment is:

Hope Seph and BR are nearly done completing with the new site and that losl will make contact ASAP.

PS: The database is safe - no harm done to it at all.

edit by mooty:

There's now a link to the uploader added on the quote line (below banner) (It's ugly, I know) and at Crazed's request there's a trail at the top and bottom of a topic.

Not cool. We'll survive. Always have, always will.

Maybe UT developed strong telepathic powers and he pushed them too far to contact all of us and ended up breaking the site. So, it's UT's fault?

I'm thinking Andiaz.

I have no fucking clue how the rmwiki.org domain came to be in his control. Maybe losl forgot to secure it or something (I managed to redirect it to blade2k.net after all..)

I find it very hard to believe that this was a glitch or mistake. I doubt the two websites are run on the same host, so it is unlikely that a glitch caused it. And you say that this other community is not suppose to have access to the RMWiki domain. To me this was deliberate, and seems to very well explain the mysterious actions that have been occurring in the last few weeks.

Maybe it's just me...

Most likely a glitch

I agree with BR, now that I know the details.

But what the heck is up with the B2k domain? If I go to http://www.blade2k.net, I am brought to that "RMWiki is Down" page, but if I go to http://www.blade2k.net/news.php, I am brought to the home page. The redirection was either accidentally tampered with, or this is part of the glitch.

This is because index.php of the server is the down page.

comment by Shadow03 on Saturday, October, 13th, 2007 at 10:27:18 pm

You should put it in a different page, like down.php and make www.rmwiki.org redirect to that page. The way you have it is sure to confuse n00bs.

Screw noobs.

comment by Ramza on Monday, October, 15th, 2007 at 04:48:45 pm

I think you should make the uploader use the theme you have selected, not the default theme XD

comment by Shadow03 on Monday, October, 15th, 2007 at 11:26:36 pm

@Mystic: XD

N00bs or no n00bs, it is still confusing and will drive away a good amount of people.

Flippers! I forgot people have different themes...

(It's on a different server, so I can't very well integrate it with the code of another server can I?)

it might be difficult, but not impossible... XD

The skin you chose is logged in a cookie isn't it? If not, it definately could be.

Ramza, how dare you! This is propaganda, pure low-handed propaganda! I, for one, refuse to submit to your subliminal messages, trying to get me to join MapleStory! I will be nice, though, and click on the banner, since you're God and all. Don't count on it in the future, though.

comment by mooty on Wednesday, October, 24th, 2007 at 10:45:38 am

I clicked it.

But nothing more.

comment by Ramza on Wednesday, October, 24th, 2007 at 04:07:59 pm

that's all I ask XD

it might be a pain for it to be there, but free money for something I would've probably bought anyway is a positivie any way you look at it.

NO! not maplestory.

comment by RPGVirtuoso on Monday, October, 29th, 2007 at 03:24:58 pm

What the hell, Ramza.

You care about MS more than you care about Blade2k. T_T

Go to hell.

Maple Story has to be one of the worst games I've ever played.

Can we make new news posts every now and then instead of editing my old one ? k ?

comment by Ramza on Tuesday, October, 30th, 2007 at 04:36:58 pm

individually my new posts weren't worthy of being on a post of their own XD
